Cold... Freezing...
I don't like winter. It's very snowy this year in Germany.
But Casey seems to have fun. _________________

| Yeah it seems that winter has hit with a vengence. My brother in Nottingham said they got more snow this year than they have in something like 15 years |

| I don't really like the cold weather when I have to get out in it. Because I have at least Annie the buffalo here at a stables in the city with me, I have to go out and break the ice off her water if it gets too frozen or haul water to add to the water container if it is frozen. But fortunately here in this part of Texas winters are usually very mild compared to other parts of the country. Summer on the other hand the temperatures run in the 90's and somethimes as much as 112 f |

This winter was very cold. Bamberg, my home town, was the coldest for one day in Germany!
We had around -4 f.
And in summer we are sweating at 100.4 f.
Sorry, we use Celsius here. It's -20 ° Celsius in winter.
And around 38 ° in summer.
It's fascinating that our bodies manage this. _________________

It is in the 30's but will be in the 70's this afternoon. Sooo I will have Layers of clothing to remove as it warms up. |

You are not kidding about it being a leetle bit cold over here. It was the most snow we have had in the UK for 20 years or something... there were about three days there where London was basically closed.
Because I live very close to work, I think I lost out actually. People who had to come by car or travel on roads got to stay at home because it was not safe enough to drive. I'd come in every day and then get sent home around lunchtime. One day, the roads were that bad I walked because the traffic was moving so slowly. I ended up helping three cars who had got stuck - totted up some Karma.
Then of course everyone in Canada sent us images of what real snow was like... yeah ok... we dont get it all the time, we don't have chains on wheels or snow ploughs in the boot.
I'm staying at Mum's last night and today as she is at a School Reunion, with people she hasnt seen for about 40 years, which will be fun for her. I'm just keeping Dad company here, but their heating is broken so they only have one radiator on at a time. Of course Dad gets that, but as he never gets up before 11am now, I am sitting here at their PC with a fleecy blanket, microwavable bean bag thing, and two jumpers.
I am looking forward to warmer weather!! _________________ Never regret anything that made you smile |

Wimps. :p
This is with me already standing on a snowbank at least 4ft in the air:

And this you'll note shows that the snowbanks are higher than a tractor. I watermarked them since I put them online... and if they look funny, its cuz I partially deleted the cars... since they're on the net now.

If I can find it, there's one where I know it's deep cuz I jumped in, and was stuck up to my shoulders in the snow. Haha... _________________ Ometi'klan: If you couldn't secure the room, you should NOT plan on leaving it!!

Again with the Canadian people taking the mickey.
We don't have tractors to get to work on, otherwise, we could have got about during our recent 'snap'.

Actually if I remember the news cast correctly. England doesn't ususally get that severe of a snow and that is why they don't have the equipment on standby. Places like Canada are equiped and ready because they they know it is coming because it always does.
I bet if we had someone living in Anartica they could put the pictures from Canada to shame. But it is all what we are used to. I would hate to have to deal with weeks and weeks of snow and ice. |

Actually, we aren't prepared for this either- its been years since our neighbours had to dig us out! The snowbanks prevent us from seeing whats on the streets to get out of our driveways, and off of side streets. The storm was... Sunday night and Monday, and TPTB asked everyone to stay home.
I was talking to someone, apparently, Canada pretty well the worst, when it comes to "inhabited" places, worse than Siberia, etc. The problem with Antarctica is just that it stays that way, so it has the ice.
Man, I can't believe we have like 5 feet of snow!
I can haz pikturz of ur snowfall plz? _________________ Ometi'klan: If you couldn't secure the room, you should NOT plan on leaving it!!

Thank you Cindy! See. We are not wimps. We are just badly prepared. They actually ran out of salt for the roads, which meant the paths were all ice until the thaw. I could have leant them my table salt cos I am cutting down. _________________ Never regret anything that made you smile |

2 points of advice.
Never use cat litter on ice. A friend tried it yet (I don't know why)... it just makes a mess.
Ashes (from the wood stove) are excellent to throw on ice.
I guess it would catch you guys by surprise... but it could be worse- it could be up to your shoulders too! _________________ Ometi'klan: If you couldn't secure the room, you should NOT plan on leaving it!!
